Bahrain Chairs GCC–Morocco Telecommunications Meeting

The Bahrain chaired the second joint telecommunications meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the Morocco, which was held remotely.

Shaikh Ahmed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Acting Director of Telecommunications at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, highlighted the importance of advancing the telecommunications sector and strengthening partnerships between GCC countries and Morocco in line with rapid technological developments and shared interests.

He emphasised the need to enhance coordination, exchange expertise, and benefit from successful experiences, as well as to develop regulatory frameworks that support innovation and attract investment in the sector. He also underlined the importance of building national capabilities and strengthening human capital to keep pace with ongoing digital transformation and support sustainable development.

The meeting reviewed cooperation in regulatory systems, plans for mutual visits to exchange expertise, and the organisation of specialised events and workshops to promote knowledge sharing. Participants also discussed a proposed work plan presented by the Moroccan side, outlining key areas for future collaboration.
