The Northern Municipal Council will hold its upcoming session online via the Microsoft Teams platform amid ongoing regional tensions, reflecting precautionary measures adopted across various institutions in the Kingdom.
The decision to convene the meeting virtually stems from current regional circumstances and ongoing efforts to ensure public safety while maintaining the continuity of municipal work and services.
Despite the shift to an online format, council members are expected to review several service and planning matters affecting residents across the Northern Governorate during Monday’s session.
Among the agenda items is a proposal to introduce a symbolic fee of 100 fils for using certain public restroom facilities in parks and walking paths across the governorate. The proposal aims to improve maintenance standards, reduce facility misuse, and ensure sustainable cleaning and upkeep of public amenities.
Another item scheduled for discussion concerns registering the Abdulrahman bin Auf Mosque property in Hamad Town under the administration of the Sunni Endowments Directorate. The proposal seeks to formalise the property’s status and facilitate future maintenance and expansion work.
The council will also review several responses from the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture regarding earlier recommendations submitted by members, including proposals related to public facilities and infrastructure improvements.
Holding the session online reflects the council’s commitment to continuing municipal responsibilities while adapting to current conditions.
