Ceiling Collapse Triggers Urgent Home Inspection

A ceiling collapsed inside a family home in Hamad Town, prompting an urgent inspection after the property was classified as a critical case requiring immediate structural attention.

Northern Municipal Council member Abdulla Mubarak Al Qubaisi, representative of the ninth constituency, visited the home in Block 1205 with officials from the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture to assess the situation.

The inspection confirmed that the ceiling of one of the rooms had collapsed. Authorities classified the case as critical, citing a direct safety risk to the family and the need for urgent engineering intervention to protect residents and property.

During the visit, Al Qubaisi checked on the family’s safety and wellbeing and stressed that protecting citizens remains a priority.

He said he would continue following up on the case with the relevant authorities and specialist committees until the danger is addressed.

The visit was part of ongoing follow-up on housing rehabilitation projects under the Towns and Villages Development Programme.

The restoration scheme, overseen by the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture in cooperation with municipal councils, supports Bahraini families with limited incomes by repairing and restoring homes facing structural damage or deterioration.
