Crown Prince vows to fight extremism

Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met Vice Admiral Mark Fox, Deputy Commander of the United States Central Command, at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.

During the meeting, the Crown Prince affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain would continue to contribute to the fight against extremism and that the Kingdom was committed to supporting international cooperation in this regard. 

Prince Salman went on to stress the importance of  eradicating extremist ideologies and their financial resources, in order to achieve lasting stability and security within the region.

The Crown Prince stressed that Bahrain was committed to upholding the principles of coexistence and openness, and that Bahrain, alongside its international partners, would resolutely combat terrorist organisations. 

The Crown Prince emphasised that the abhorrent attacks carried out by terrorist groups were entirely unrepresentative of Islamic principles.

Issues of mutual interest as well as the longstanding strategic relationship between Bahrain and the United States were also discussed during the meeting.
