The High Criminal Court set March 31 to issue its verdict in a case involving a defendant accused of causing the death of one person and injuring three others in a traffic accident. The accident happened because he was driving under the influence of alcohol, exceeding the speed limit, and driving a car that was not registered and uninsured. The crash also caused damage to public and private property.

For causing the victim’s death and injuring three others due to drunk driving and speeding, the Public Prosecution charged the defendant. He was driving at 75 km/h in a road where the speed limit was 50 km/h.

The defendant was also charged with driving without due care and attention, and driving a vehicle with an expired registration and no insurance.

The defendant hit another vehicle, causing it to lose control and crash into a car coming from the opposite direction.
