Gulf Air Reports Strong Operational Performance in 2025
Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has reported robust operational performance in 2025, reflecting stable passenger demand, improved operational efficiency, and the airline’s ongoing commitment to strengthening air connectivity to and from Bahrain.
During 2025, Gulf Air transported 6,647,879 passengers, marking a 5% increase compared to 2024, and operated 52,099 flights across its network. The airline also achieved a notable improvement in operational efficiency, with the seat load factor rising to 81.6%, up from 77.0% in the previous year, indicating better utilization of capacity and sustained demand for travel on Gulf Air across key markets serving Bahrain.
Cargo operations continued to support Bahrain’s trade and logistics objectives. In 2025, Gulf Air recorded a total cargo volume of 77.7 million kilograms, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a regional hub for air freight and a key connector between regional and global markets.
December 2025 highlighted continued strong travel demand. The airline transported 651,291 passengers, compared with 508,771 in December 2024, operating 4,613 flights with a seat load factor of 87.1%, reflecting both strong year-end demand and efficient network and capacity management.
In a strategic move to support long-term growth, Gulf Air signed an agreement to purchase 15 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with an option for three additional planes in the future. This investment is expected to increase long-haul operational capacity, enhance flexibility in long-distance flight operations, and support Bahrain’s national goals in aviation, economic development, and global connectivity.
