Sixth Bahrain International Film Festival Opens Submissions
The Kingdom of Bahrain is once again calling on filmmakers from around the world as submissions open for the 6th Bahrain International Film Festival (BIFF), running from February 1 to June 30, 2026. The festival, now in its sixth edition, has established itself as a premier platform for creative expression and cultural storytelling in the Gulf region.
BIFF welcomes entries in feature films, short films, documentaries, and animated productions, encouraging both seasoned directors and emerging talent to showcase their work. The festival places special emphasis on films that reflect social, cultural, or environmental themes, highlighting narratives that resonate locally and globally.
Over the years, BIFF has become a cultural hub for the region’s film industry, bringing together filmmakers, critics, and audiences in a celebration of cinematic art. In addition to film screenings, the festival features panel discussions, masterclasses, and networking events, providing participants with invaluable opportunities to engage with industry experts and fellow creatives.
Past editions of the festival have highlighted a diverse range of talent, from local Bahraini filmmakers to internationally acclaimed directors. Films selected for screening have gone on to receive regional and international recognition, underlining the festival’s role as a launchpad for emerging voices in cinema.
Submissions for the 6th edition will remain open until June 30, 2026, giving filmmakers ample time to prepare and submit their entries. Selected works will be featured on a prominent stage alongside a rich program of events, designed to foster learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange.
For filmmakers interested in participating, detailed submission guidelines, eligibility criteria, and application information are available on the official Bahrain International Film Festival website.
