Manama: The Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) staged the 15th race of the 2025/2026 season at its Al Raffah racecourse in Sakhir, attended by His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the REHC High Committee, and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.

The race meeting featured a series of competitive rounds contested for the Cups of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Bahrain Jewellery Centre, Turkish Airlines, and Annoushka Jewellery of the United Kingdom, underscoring strong institutional and private-sector support for Bahrain’s horseracing calendar.

A number of Their Highnesses, senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps and invited guests attended the event, including Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women, and Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Member of the SCW, alongside representatives of sponsoring organisations.

The programme also included the third edition of RoyalTea, an initiative jointly organised by the REHC and the Supreme Council for Women. The event forms part of broader efforts to encourage women’s engagement in equestrian sports and horseracing, combining competitive racing with social and cultural activities held alongside the main rounds.

At the conclusion of the races, winners were honoured during a prize presentation ceremony. Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa awarded the Supreme Council for Women Cup to the winning trainer, Daniel Kubler. The sixth-round trophy was presented to His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa by Dhawiya Sayed Sharaf Al Alawi, Member of the SCW.

Additional prizes were presented by event partners, with Mustafa Dokmetas, General Manager of Turkish Airlines’ Bahrain office, handing the second-round trophy to winning owner Hussain Al Afoo, while Elena Al Sharif, representing Annoushka Jewellery, presented the seventh-round trophy to trainer Robert McDowall.

The event reflected the REHC’s continued commitment to developing horseracing in Bahrain, while promoting inclusivity, international partnership and community engagement within the Kingdom’s equestrian sporting scene.
