2026 Declared “Year of Isa the Great” by HM King Hamad

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, received His Royal Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at Al-Sakhir Palace today, in the presence of several senior officials. The meeting reviewed a number of topics aimed at advancing Bahrain’s development and prosperity across various sectors.

During the meeting, the King expressed his pride in the Crown Prince’s ongoing leadership and dedication to enhancing government work, achieving significant accomplishments that benefit the nation and its citizens.

His Majesty also declared 2026 as the “Year of Isa the Great,” in honor of the founder of modern Bahrain and the leader of institutional development, Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, commemorating his pivotal role in establishing stability, building legal and civil institutions, and promoting national prosperity. The King highlighted the ongoing development projects in Muharraq and across Bahrain, emphasizing efforts to preserve the country’s historical and cultural identity.

On the occasion of Bahrain’s Diplomatic Day, the King congratulated all members of the diplomatic corps, praising their vital role in strengthening international relations and supporting national interests. He commended Bahrain’s diplomacy for its achievements in promoting tolerance, coexistence, and peace globally.

The meeting also included discussions on regional developments and their impact on security and stability. His Majesty reaffirmed Bahrain’s firm position advocating the resolution of crises through dialogue and diplomatic means, emphasizing the importance of peaceful solutions for the benefit of all peoples.
