HM King Hamad Awards Pakistan’s Prime Minister the Order of Bahrain

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at Al Safriya Palace today during his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister of Pakistan conveyed greetings from His Excellency Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan, and extended his best wishes for Bahrain’s continued progress and prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty the King.

In response, His Majesty the King sent his greetings and best wishes to President Zardari, wishing the people of Pakistan further prosperity and development.

His Majesty highlighted the Kingdom’s pride in its longstanding historical ties with Pakistan, noting their continuous growth across all levels. He praised the Prime Minister’s efforts in strengthening bilateral relations and reiterated Bahrain’s support for Pakistan’s security and stability. The King also expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s support of Bahrain’s bid for a seat on the United Nations Security Council.

Further, His Majesty commended Pakistan’s principled stance toward Bahrain, emphasizing the strong ties between the two nations, Pakistan’s key role in supporting Arab and Islamic causes, and its contributions to regional and global peace and stability.

The discussion also covered regional and international developments of mutual interest, with both sides underscoring the importance of supporting initiatives to maintain stability and consolidate peace globally.

In recognition of the Prime Minister’s efforts in developing relations between the two countries, His Majesty awarded him the Order of Bahrain (Wisam al Bahrain), First Class.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality, praising His Majesty’s dedication to advancing bilateral relations and reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Bahrain across all sectors.

Following the meeting, His Majesty hosted a luncheon in honour of the Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation.
