Housing Ministry Receives Top E-Service Award
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has been recognized with the Best Integrated E-Service Award as part of the 2025 E-Government Excellence Awards, marking a major milestone in the Ministry’s comprehensive digital transformation efforts.
Her Excellency Amina bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, highlighted that the award reflects the Ministry’s commitment to fully integrating digital services and connecting electronically with multiple entities involved in housing services for citizens. This achievement aligns with the government performance and digital transformation objectives outlined in the 2023–2026 Government Program.
Minister Al Rumaihi explained that the success stems from the development of a fully integrated electronic system connecting 11 government and private entities, resulting in a significant improvement in service quality and efficiency. The initiative has enhanced data accuracy, reduced reliance on paper documents, strengthened transparency in housing decision-making, and simplified citizens’ service journeys through unified, user-friendly digital services.
She added that the Ministry prioritized adopting high technical and security standards to ensure safe and seamless integration with government databases, boosting information reliability and allowing citizens easy and secure access to online services.
The Ministry has also redesigned the citizen journey electronically, enabling residents to complete transactions without in-person visits. The system allows users to submit applications online, track their status with real-time notifications, receive remote consultations and support via the customer service center and virtual assistant, and provide feedback on service quality, facilitating continuous improvement.
Minister Al Rumaihi emphasized that this digital system represents a fundamental transformation in the user experience, by integrating services, streamlining procedures, and enhancing the overall digital journey. It provides citizens with a comprehensive digital experience while supporting the government’s digital transformation agenda.
She noted that this achievement motivates the Ministry team to continue innovating advanced digital services, keeping pace with government efforts to digitize transactions, improve efficiency, and reduce time and procedural requirements for citizens.
This award follows a series of digital development successes by the Ministry, including the Bahrain Digital Content Award 2025 for integrated government housing services, the 2023 E-Government Excellence Award for Best Government Website, and the Platinum Shield Award for the Remote Customer Service Center platform, recognizing efforts to enhance digital services.
