Bahrain–India Forum Highlights Trade and Legal Cooperation

The forum titled “The Kingdom of Bahrain–India: Pathways Towards Successful Commerce” brought together business, judicial, and government leaders, along with international guests, at the Ritz-Carlton in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Organised by the Council for International Dispute Resolution, the event emphasised the importance of cross-border trade, investment, and legal cooperation between Bahrain, India, and the wider MENA region.
The programme commenced with remarks by Dr. Pinky Anand, recently appointed as a judge of the newly launched Bahrain International Commercial Court (BICC). The Honourable Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law and Justice of India, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the forum’s role in advancing India’s presence in international legal circles and strengthening business confidence abroad.
Justice Surya Kant, Chief Justice Designate of India, addressed the evolving landscape of international dispute resolution and the deepening ties between Indian and MENA legal systems. The closing remarks were delivered by Professor Marike Patrani Paulsson, Secretary-General of the Council for International Dispute Resolution, who reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to providing a trusted platform for businesses and legal practitioners to resolve complex commercial disputes, fostering greater economic collaboration and legal innovation between the two nations.
