Indian Fine Arts Society (IFAS), one of Bahrain’s oldest cultural associations, will mark a new milestone today with the semi-final and final of its ‘Superstar Singer 2025’ contest at Epix Cinema in Dana Mall.
The event, which begins at 5pm with doors opening at 4.15pm, will feature the island’s top emerging vocalists performing before a live audience. Entry is free, and organisers have urged music lovers to arrive early as seating is limited.
Established in 1974, IFAS has spent more than five decades promoting arts, music and dance in Bahrain. Its 2025 theme, ‘Celebrating 50+ Years of Legacy, Harmony & Culture’, pays tribute to its enduring mission to spread love and brotherhood through the arts while fostering homegrown talent alongside visiting international performers.
Multimedia production
Earlier this year, IFAS opened its golden jubilee calendar with a multimedia production titled ‘Tribute to Saint Thyagaraja’, blending painting, dance and music to tell the saint’s life story. It followed with a wellness initiative, ‘Rhythmic Remedies’, a music therapy workshop aimed at promoting the well-being of society.
In September, the association presented ‘Triveni’, an instrumental concert by young musicians who showcased their art in a new way for the new age.
The ‘Superstar Singer 2025’ auditions were held on October 31st and drew more than 250 attendees, with performances described by IFAS president Nirmala Varadharajan as “beyond expectations.”
Highlight
Mrs Varadharajan said today’s grand event will serve as the highlight of IFAS’s anniversary celebrations, showcasing local talent and furthering the association’s mission to integrate the Indian and Bahraini societies, strengthening brotherhood beyond boundaries. She added that IFAS has lined up unique programmes for 2026 under its theme of ‘Unity in Diversity.’ The event is supported by Ambassador Stores, Axiom Phones, Epix Cinemas and The Daily Tribune as media partner, reflecting IFAS’s ongoing commitment to promote arts, culture and brotherhood beyond boundaries.
