BIAS20106 activities announced

An impressive line-up of activities and entertainment for the whole family has been announced by the organisers of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS2016 ) held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on January 21-23.

As the biggest aviation industry event in the Kingdom, the fourth edition of the show will allow Bahrain citizens and residents to take part in the public area of the show, and witness spectacular flying displays from some of the world’s most remarkable aerobatic display teams including the Russian Knights, the Saudi Hawks, UAE’s Al Fursan and India’s Sarang Helicopter Display Team.

On the ground, visitors can play exciting games like Bubble Bash football. Bubble Bash or Bubble Football is a new sport which features players running around the pitch wearing giant inflatable bubbles which allow them to bounce into action at any moment. The real challenge comes when players bump, push and bash their bubble bodies into one another for possession of the ball.

For the aviation enthusiasts, Combat Flight Pack simulator allows riders to fly aircraft from any airport in the world, including commercial airliners, fighter jets, private planes, helicopters, flying over realistic scenery based on high-resolution satellite imagery.

The Simulator is hooked up to a highly sophisticated stable of controls and audio visual package culminating in one of the world’s most fully immersive mobile Simulator experiences.

Families can also ride in the Motion Capsule simulator, which will take them through an exciting and thrilling flight adventure.

On each of the three days of the show, different musical performers will be playing their latest music. International illusionist One with Magic will have a show during each day, followed by two live musical performances daily starting at 4pm. Highlights include Bahrain-based talents like the progressive fusion folk band Majaz, the original Arabic-rapping Hip Hop sensation The Maestro, and Havaneros Band, who will be bringing people to their feet with upbeat Latino music. The headliners include Hanan Ridha, Kuwaiti Hip Hop star Daffy, performing his hit song ‘Samboosa’ with DJ Outlaw, and Bahrain’s own DJ Jackson.

In addition, an array of street performers including magicians, stilt walkers and Instagram-able giant BIAS 2016 sculptures will be entertaining kids. There will be a jump rope crew turning a childhood pastime into an impressive show.

For kids and adults who enjoy art, creative graffiti and 3D street art, will be featured where visitors can watch the artists at work and have a go at doing their own art.

A range of food and beverage options will be available throughout the event as well as some light shopping at retail kiosks.

Featuring for the fourth time, the Heritage Village, in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, will add a Bahraini touch showcasing traditional handicrafts.

Face painting, a swing chair carousel, and a large soft play area featuring huge inflatable slides and obstacle courses, will be available for younger children.

All of these activities will be held in the dedicated public area adjacent to the trade area. Ticketholders can access the public area via the Bahrain International Circuit, where shuttles will be available to transfer them to the public area.
