Bahrain Hosts MICE Workshop in Collaboration with Oman

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) organized a specialized training workshop today on Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre. The session was led by Mr. Khalid bin Waleed Al-Zadjali, Director of the Oman Conferences Office at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of Oman.

The workshop brought together 50 representatives from various sectors involved in business tourism, including BTEA’s Marketing and Promotion Department, the management of the Exhibition Centre, several hotels and travel agencies, as well as representatives from the Economic Development Board (EDB) and other active government and social organizations in the field.

During the session, Mr. Al-Zadjali shared Oman’s experience in hosting and organizing regional and international conferences and explored how these best practices could benefit Bahrain under the framework of the executive program of the tourism cooperation memorandum of understanding between the two countries. The initiative aims to promote knowledge exchange and unify efforts to develop the MICE sector in both nations.

Commenting on the workshop, Ms. Dana Osama Al-Saad, BTEA’s Deputy CEO for Resources and Projects, highlighted that the event is part of the executive program to implement the tourism cooperation agreement between Bahrain and Oman. She added that it supports the ongoing development of Bahrain’s MICE sector, a key pillar of the Tourism Strategy 2022-2026. She also noted that the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre, with its advanced facilities, plays a crucial role in positioning Bahrain as a leading destination for international events.
