Bahrain arranges road safety during the New Year holiday
General Director of Traffic, Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa asserted on Wednesday that there will be special arrangements to ensure the safety of road users during the New Year holiday. There will be an increase in the deployment of traffic police personnel to ensure smooth traffic , he said, urging road users to be cautious, avoid traffic violations and cooperate with traffic men.
He said that a number of traffic officers will be in-charge of traffic flow in all governorates, while traffic patrols will be deployed to monitor traffic movement and traffic signals at key junctions.
He continued that there will be law enforcement traffic campaigns, and cranes to removed cars that are involved in accidents. The department might opt to close some lanes of roads with heavy traffic such as the exhibitions road, Osama bin Zaid road and Bukuwara road.
The General Director urged road users to cooperate with the traffic personnel and follow traffic rules to avoid unnecessary mishaps or legal actions against them.
