The Embassy of India in Bahrain marked the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) this year with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” The main event took place at Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam, where more than 500 yoga lovers gathered to celebrate and practice yoga together.
During the event, Ambassador H.E. Mr. Vinod K. Jacob honored the Bahrain Yogasana team for their recent participation in the 2nd Asian Yogasana Sport Championship held in New Delhi last April.
The gathering also featured special videos, including one released by India’s Ministry of Ayush highlighting the Yoga Day theme, and another showcasing 11 years of India’s government achievements titled Viksit Bharat Ka Amrit Kaal. Additionally, videos with important safety guidelines from Bahrain’s National Civil Protection Platform were shared to raise awareness about regional safety. The Ambassador urged the Indian community in Bahrain to follow these local advisories closely.
The Embassy’s celebrations began early this year, with yoga sessions starting in April to mark 75 days before the event, followed by sessions at 50 days and 25 days milestones in May. Throughout June, Indian community groups, schools, and yoga enthusiasts across Bahrain hosted various yoga activities, spreading the message of health and wellness to all.
The Embassy expressed heartfelt thanks to all the Indian community organizations, schools, and yoga practitioners—both Indian and Bahraini—who helped make this year’s Yoga Day celebrations a great success.
