Southern Municipality Organizes Tree Planting Initiative at Al-Hikma Retirees Association

The Southern Municipality, in collaboration with the Southern Municipal Council and in partnership with the Al-Hikma Retirees Association, organized a tree planting event at the association’s headquarters in Buhair. The initiative, held under the slogan "The South is More Beautiful with Our Hands," saw the participation of municipal officials, association members, and volunteers.

This initiative aligns with the municipality’s commitment to involving civil society organizations and community members in environmental and afforestation efforts. The goal is to expand green spaces, promote environmental awareness, and encourage the planting of native trees that require minimal water and can withstand Bahrain’s harsh climate conditions.

The event is part of a series of awareness campaigns undertaken by the municipality in cooperation with various NGOs and community organizations, contributing to Bahrain’s national afforestation plan.

The Southern Municipality emphasized the vital role of community partnerships in achieving its environmental objectives. It reaffirmed its commitment to organizing similar initiatives in collaboration with relevant institutions and associations to enhance public awareness of the importance of afforestation in improving overall quality of life.
