Lecture to address public debt and diversification of income
Shura Council will organise an economy lecture by Gulf Monetary Council (GMC) President Dr. Raja Al Marzoqi, under the patronage of its Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh.
The lecture, to be held at Isa Cultural Centre (ICC), will address public debt and diversification of income sources in the Arabian Gulf states.
This event aims at highlighting the reality of the Gulf States’ economy, importance of economic diversification for sustainable development, European Union experience within the framework of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) and the impact of the monetary union on the economies of the GCC countries.
Dr. Raja Al Marzoqi has PhD in Economy from Oklahoma State University and served as Director of Centre for Asian Studies, Institute of Diplomatic Studies, Riyadh, Advisor to the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department and Washington Minister Plenipotentiary.
The lecture is expected to bring together MPs and a number of stakeholders in the economic affairs, including the Economic Development Board (EDB), Ministry of Finance, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and representatives of local newspapers interested in economic affairs.
