Bahraini killed in Kuwait Road mishap

 One Bahraini was killed on the spot and four persons were injured in a horrific road accident that took place in Kuwait on Wednesday. According to the family members of the deceased, the mishap took place while they were on a trip Kuwait for shopping, to prepare for the approaching Eid Al Fitr.

 The deceased was identified as Ghada Saleh from Bilad Al Qadeem. Her brother Saeed Saleh confirmed that the accident occurred on King Fahd Highway in Nuwaiseeb area, while the deceased and four companions were on their way to the Kuwaiti capital.

 “After completing formal procedures at Al Khafji border point, we were travelling through the highway. The driver was surprised to see maintenance works in the middle of the road. There were cement blocks placed on the road, and the driver lost control of the vehicle when he tried to steer clear of them,” Saleh explained.

 He said yesterday Ghada was pronounced dead on the spot, due to the serious injuries she suffered, while the remaining four were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital. The brother added that few family members travelled to Kuwait to finalise the formal procedures and repatriate the body to Bahrain.

 He confirmed the deceased will be buried in Abu Anbarah cemetery in the neighbouring Al Khamees village.Foreign Affairs Ministry announced on its official Twitter page that “Bahrain Embassy in Kuwait is following up on the sad accident that occurred to Bahraini citizens there.”

 The ministry confirmed that the four injured persons suffered minor injuries and were taken to Al Adan Hospital, while the embassy is processing the repatriation procedures of the deceased’s body.
