Fire breaks out at Indian School Wadi Kabir

Muscat: Around 320 students were evacuated and a school staff was injured when a fire broke out at Indian School Wadi Kabir on Thursday morning.

Speaking to the Times of Oman, the Principal of Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir, D N Rao, said that the fire broke out from the first aid room at around 9.50 am on Thursday.

“Immediately we called the Royal Oman Police who brought the fire under control,” he said.

As a precautionary measure, the school evacuated around 320 students who were in the ground floor of the building where the fire broke out.

“The school staff who was injured has been admitted to hospital,” the principal said.

Further investigations are going on to ascertain the cause of the fire.
