Two Students Killed in Shooting at Catholic School in Philippines

Zamboanga City: A shooting at a Catholic school in the southern Philippines killed two people, including a student gunman today.
The incident happened in Zamboanga City's Ateneo de Zamboanga University high school. According to police, a Grade 9 student took a pistol and a rifle to campus and opened fire inside a classroom, killing one of his classmates before dying himself.
According to university officials, the gunfire was brought under control, and no additional fatalities were initially reported. Students were evacuated from campus as police secured the area.
The incident marks the second fatal school shooting in the Philippines in two months. The June attack on San Jose National High School in Tacloban City killed three students and injured many others.
Authorities are examining the circumstances and probable motives for Tuesday's shooting.
