UAE condemns Iranian attack on ADNOC vessel
The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned what it described as a hostile Iranian attack targeting an ADNOC-affiliated vessel while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz. No injuries were reported in the incident.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack constitutes a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which underscores the importance of freedom of navigation and rejects attacks on commercial vessels and the obstruction of international maritime routes.
The ministry warned that targeting commercial shipping and using the Strait of Hormuz as a means of economic pressure threatens regional stability, global trade and energy security.
The UAE called on Iran to immediately halt such attacks, comply with an immediate cessation of hostilities and ensure the complete and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
