ABU DHABI: In an exclusive report by Gulf News, 12-year-old UAE student Arjun Patwardhan has won the prestigious Grand Honors Award from the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth after cracking the SAT with zero external coaching.
The Indian-origin eighth-grader at Global Indian International School in Abu Dhabi achieved an extraordinary score of 750 out of 800 on the highly competitive SAT Mathematics section.
Designed primarily for high school juniors and seniors, typically aged 16 and older, the rigorous college-readiness exam serves as a global benchmark.
Remarkably, Arjun bypassed private tutors, relying solely on free online resources like Khan Academy and practicing via mock papers downloaded from the College Board website.
The elite Johns Hopkins distinction is globally reserved for fewer than 30% of advanced young learners who demonstrate exceptional academic abilities significantly above their grade level, opening doors to top-tier university programs.
