California: In a historic move for the streaming giant, Netflix has announced a global theatrical release for ‘Narnia: The Magician's Nephew’ nearly two months before its digital debut. Directed by Greta Gerwig, the adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s classic novel is scheduled to hit the big screen on February 12, 2027. It will later arrive on the streaming platform on April 2.
This decision marks the first time Netflix has honored a traditional 45-day theatrical window before a film hits its service. The production stars young leads David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell, supported by a powerhouse cast including Meryl Streep, Daniel Craig, and Carey Mulligan.
Gerwig praised the partnership with IMAX, expressing her excitement for audiences to experience the film in theaters first.
