Nairobi: Renowned Tanzanian singer Matonya, famous for the hit song "Vailet," has been charged with human trafficking in a Dar es Salaam court. The musician, whose real name is Khalid Mohamed, was arraigned alongside several accomplices following a police operation that rescued multiple victims.
Authorities allege that Matonya was involved in a syndicate that recruited young individuals under the guise of providing overseas employment opportunities, only to subject them to exploitation.
