Third Body Recovered After Deadly Grand Canyon Flash Flood

Arizona: The body of 53 years old Timothy Allen Smith, the last person reported missing following a fatal flash flood at the Grand Canyon, has been recovered and identified, bringing the death toll to three.
Smith's remains were discovered Monday near Crystal Rapids on the Colorado River, about three weeks after floods hit Bright Angel Canyon and the Phantom Ranch region on August 29. His two hiking partners, Brent Rosenkranz, 42, and John Giusti, 46, were discovered dead earlier.
More than 80 people were rescued during the two-day flood, which also destroyed a key pipeline that supplies water to the South Rim. Many trails and lodging locations remain damaged as recovery operations continue.
