Paris, France: France captain Kylian Mbappe has signed with Swiss sportswear brand On, officially ending a long-standing association with Nike that stretched back to the very start of his professional career.
Announcing the milestone agreement on Friday, the company stated that the partnership marks its major entry into football alongside the global champion, introducing a shared vision to shape tomorrow's game.
In a further sign of its high-stakes football ambitions, On also announced the official appointment of legendary 1998 World Cup winner Thierry Henry to serve as its football director.
Mbappe noted that he was drawn to the unique chance of building something entirely new, bringing his perspective to innovation, and staying true to the pure joy of football.
While On did not disclose the financial value of the high-profile contract, the Zurich-based brand founded in 2010 and previously focused on running and tennis with shareholder Roger Federer is aggressively expanding its footprint into the world's biggest sport.
