The Capital Governorate Security Committee, chaired by Governor Shaikh Khalid bin Hamood Al Khalifa, discussed measures to strengthen community security and raise awareness of risks facing children in cyberspace.
The committee reviewed a presentation by the Child Online Protection Unit of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security on digital risks facing children, reporting mechanisms and the unit’s role in addressing cases related to child protection online.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of preventive awareness among children and parents, particularly through educational institutions. The Governor stressed continued cooperation between families, schools and specialised authorities to promote safe and responsible use of cyberspace and protect children from digital risks.
