Tehran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed that its spokesperson, Ali Mohammad Naini, was killed in US-Israeli strikes, marking another high-level casualty in the ongoing conflict.

In a statement published on its Sepah News website, the IRGC said Naini was “martyred in a criminal and cowardly terrorist attack” carried out by what it described as the American and Israeli side. Iranian state media also reported his death, noting that he had served as the force’s spokesperson since 2024.

There has been no immediate confirmation from United States or Israel regarding the claim.

Shortly before his death, Naini had rejected assertions by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Iran’s missile capabilities had been significantly weakened, insisting that Tehran continued to produce missiles.

He also indicated that Iran intended to sustain its military campaign, saying the conflict would continue until the country was no longer under threat. “This war must end when the shadow of war is lifted from the country,” he said, reflecting what he described as public sentiment.

The reported killing underscores the intensifying nature of the conflict, with senior military figures increasingly becoming targets as hostilities escalate.
