221 Missiles, 1,305 Drones Detected Since Iran Attacks Began: UAE

Abu Dhabi: Air defence systems in the United Arab Emirates successfully intercepted the majority of missiles and drones launched during the latest wave of attacks linked to Iran, according to an official statement from the UAE Ministry of Defence.
The ministry said that on Saturday, 7 March 2026, air defence units detected 16 ballistic missiles, of which 15 were intercepted and destroyed, while one missile fell into the sea.
Defence systems also tracked 121 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the same period. Of these, 119 drones were intercepted, while two fell within UAE territory.
Total attacks since escalation began
Since the start of what authorities described as “blatant Iranian aggression,” the UAE has detected:
221 ballistic missiles, with 205 successfully intercepted and destroyed
14 missiles falling into the sea
Two missiles landing within UAE territory
In addition, air defence systems detected 1,305 Iranian UAVs, of which:
1,229 were intercepted
76 fell inside UAE territory
The ministry also confirmed that eight cruise missiles were detected and destroyed.
Casualties reported
The attacks resulted in three deaths involving nationals from Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. Authorities also reported 112 minor injuries among residents and citizens of multiple nationalities, including Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian and Turkish individuals.
UAE reaffirms readiness
The Ministry of Defence emphasized that the UAE remains fully prepared to confront any threats and will respond decisively to attempts that undermine the country’s security.
Officials stressed that defence forces will continue to protect the nation’s sovereignty, stability and national interests, while ensuring the safety of residents across the country.
