Flight operations of Qatar Airways remain temporarily suspended following the closure of Qatari airspace, the airline announced. Normal services will only resume once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirms that the country’s airspace has been fully and safely reopened. The airline said the next operational update will be issued on March 8 at 09:00 Doha time (06:00 UTC).
However, after receiving temporary authorization from the aviation authority for a safe operating corridor, the airline plans to operate a limited number of repatriation flights on March 7 departing from Hamad International Airport.
The special relief flights will travel to several major European destinations, including:
* London Heathrow Airport
* Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris
* Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport in Madrid
* Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport in Rome
* Frankfurt Airport in Frankfurt
According to the airline, priority for these flights has been given to stranded passengers, particularly families, elderly travelers, and individuals with urgent medical or compassionate travel needs. Seats on the flights were directly assigned by the airline to affected passengers.
Qatar Airways emphasized that these services are relief flights only and do not indicate the full resumption of scheduled commercial operations.
Passengers have been advised not to travel to the airport unless they have received official confirmation from the airline. Affected travelers have already been contacted directly with their flight details and further instructions.
The airline said it is working continuously to arrange additional relief flights wherever operationally possible and will announce further updates as they are confirmed.
Meanwhile, passengers are urged to update their contact details via the Qatar Airways website or mobile app to ensure they receive important travel notifications.
The airline reiterated that the safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew remain its top priority during the disruption and apologized for the inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond its control.
As part of its support measures, passengers holding confirmed bookings between February 28 and March 15, 2026, are eligible for:
* Complimentary travel date changes within 14 days of the original booking, or
* A refund for the unused portion of the ticket.
