Starmer Condemns Intimidation After Mass Far-Right Protest

Prime Minister Keir Starmer vowed on Sunday that his government will not tolerate intimidation or threats against people based on their background or skin colour, following one of the largest far-right demonstrations in Britain’s history.

The rally, held on Saturday and led by far-right activist Tommy Robinson, drew an estimated 150,000 participants. Starmer, making his first public remarks after the protest, sharply criticised violent incidents in which some demonstrators clashed with police officers.

“Britain is a nation proudly built on tolerance, diversity and respect,” the Prime Minister said, stressing that such values must not be undermined by hate-driven movements. He reaffirmed his stance that no individual in the UK should feel unsafe in public spaces because of their identity.

Authorities continue to assess the aftermath of the protest, which has reignited debates over extremism, freedom of assembly, and social cohesion in the country.
