Top News Outlets Urge Israel to Allow Journalists Access to Gaza
Several major international media organizations, including the BBC, Reuters, Associated Press (AP), and Agence France-Presse (AFP), have jointly appealed to Israel to allow journalists to move freely in and out of Gaza.
In a statement released on Thursday, the outlets expressed deep concern for their teams on the ground.
“We are desperately worried about our journalists in Gaza, who are struggling to feed themselves and their families,” the statement read.
They emphasized the growing challenges faced by media workers under the ongoing blockade and urged Israeli authorities once again to grant access for journalists to enter and leave the war-torn region.
The blockade has significantly limited coverage and placed local journalists under immense personal and professional strain, the media groups said, calling for immediate action to protect press freedom and ensure the safety of those reporting from Gaza.
