U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the United States has officially signed a trade deal with China, and hinted that India may be next in line for a significant trade agreement.
Speaking at a White House event aimed at promoting a new government spending bill, Trump said, “We just signed a trade deal with China. We're not going to make deals with everybody. But we're having some great deals. We have one coming up, maybe with India — a very big one.”
The newly signed agreement with China, according to Trump, will unlock trade opportunities that were previously restricted.
“We’re going to open up India. In the China deal, we’re starting to open up China — things that never really could have happened before,” he said, adding, “The relationship with every country has been very good.”
While no specific timeline or details were shared regarding the potential India deal, the remarks signal a continued U.S. push for stronger bilateral trade partnerships amid evolving global economic dynamics.
