A team of US officials is traveling to Moscow for discussions on a potential ceasefire in Ukraine, following a meeting in Saudi Arabia where Ukrainian officials agreed to a 30-day ceasefire.

President Donald Trump confirmed the visit but did not specify which officials were involved. The Kremlin has stated that it is reviewing the ceasefire proposal, and a phone call between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin is under consideration.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that National Security Secretary Mike Waltz had spoken with his Russian counterpart. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to travel to Moscow for negotiations.

The Kremlin stated that further details of the discussions will be shared in the coming days through diplomatic channels.

Meanwhile, hostilities continue. Ukrainian cities, including Kryvyy Rih, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv, were targeted by Russian drone and missile strikes overnight. Clashes are also ongoing in Russia's Kursk region.

President Putin visited Kursk on Wednesday, where he was seen alongside Russian military chief Valery Gerasimov. Russian media reported that he instructed military forces in the region to continue operations.

Ukraine’s top military commander, Oleksandr Syrsky, stated that Ukrainian forces were repositioning in certain areas and emphasized the focus on troop safety.

The ceasefire discussions are ongoing, with further updates expected from both sides.
