Delhi Capitals all-rounder Mitchell Marsh will return home from the Indian Premier League with a hamstring injury, a concern for Australia ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Marsh, who is expected to captain Australia in T20's showpiece event in the West Indies and the United States starting on June 1, missed Delhi's previous two matches when he suffered a partial tear in his right hamstring.

A team source confirmed to AFP the 32-year-old Marsh has left for home but did not reveal the date or chances of his return to the T20 tournament.

Marsh was out for a two-ball duck in his last innings, which ended in a heavy defeat for his team against Kolkata Knight Riders. He has managed just 61 runs and claimed one wicket from four matches.

Marsh's team, led by Indian star Rishabh Pant, remain ninth in the 10-team table with just two wins from six matches,

The ongoing 17th edition of the IPL will end on May 26 with the final in Chennai.
