The Bahrain Tennis Federation has launched its first specialized training programme for men over 18, responding to requests from female participants seeking to involve male family members in the sport. The programme, held each Thursday and Saturday under coach Islam, focuses on building physical fitness and teaching tennis fundamentals from scratch.

Board Member Jameela Al Nashaba stated the initiative followed proposals from women in the federation’s evening training programme, who wanted husbands and relatives to learn the sport for family play. The programme received immediate approval from federation president Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, with preparations beginning three weeks ago.

“Tennis is a family sport suitable for all ages,” Al Nashaba noted, emphasizing its social and fitness benefits. Seven participants are currently enrolled in the weekly sessions at the federation’s Isa Town courts. The Women’s Committee continues to solicit public suggestions via the federation’s website for future programmes aligning with available resources.
