Muharraq Stay Top as Khalidiya Keep Up the Pressure

Muharraq preserved their lead at the top of the Nasser Bin Hamad Premier League table with a 3-1 win over Bahrain Club in Riffa. The visitors initially fell behind to a 26th-minute penalty converted by Joël Vinícius. But Junior Da Costa levelled with a header two minutes before half-time.
Despite going down to ten men, Muharraq found a late breakthrough during 13 minutes of added time. Hussein Abdulkarim struck to put them ahead, before Ibrahim Saada added a third to seal the result.
Muharraq now sit on 35 points, while Bahrain remain on 15.
Khalidiya Edge Al Ahli to Remain in Contention
Second-placed Khalidiya remain three points off the top after defeating Al Ahli 2-1 at the Bahrain National Stadium. Mahdi Abduljabbar opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 12 minutes, but Al Ahli responded with an equaliser from Sayed Jawad Haidar shortly before the break.
Mohammed Saad Al-Rumaihi restored Khalidiya’s advantage in the 78th minute, ensuring his side moved up to 32 points. Al Ahli stay on 17.
Late Equaliser Earns Riffa a Point Against Sitra
Riffa needed a stoppage-time goal to secure a 1-1 draw with Sitra at Khalifa Sports City.
Ali Nasser put Sitra ahead in the 33rd minute, and they looked set for victory until Ali Harum struck in the eighth minute of added time to salvage a point for Riffa.
The result leaves Sitra on 23 points, with Riffa just behind on 22.
