The High Civil Court obliged a Bahraini man and his daughter to refund BD15,000 to the Ministry of Education after violating the agreement they signed with it to cover the expenses of her studies at the Bahrain Teachers College.

As per the case records, the Ministry awarded a sponsorship to the daughter to complete her studies at the Bahrain Teachers College, in return for working as a teacher at a public school.

However, she left the country after her studies, prompting the Ministry to file a complaint against her to refund the amount she received for her education.

“She violated the agreement and claimed that she couldn’t work due to the fact that she travelled outside the country with her father,” the lawyer of the Ministry said. The Civil Court ruled in favour of the Ministry, underscoring that the woman’s failure to meet the agreement conditions isn’t acceptable under any circumstances except for the force majeure.

“Therefore, the Court obliges the defendants to pay BD15,000 to the Ministry of Education for violating the deal,” the Court said in its ruling.
