Bahrain is all set to host the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which will have nearly 200 representatives from 178 parliaments around the globe, said Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam.

Al Musallam asserted that Bahrain’s hosting of the 146th IPU Assembly from March 11-15 is a global vote of confidence in the Kingdom’s ability to organise mega-global conferences and events.

“The legislative branch has, in cooperation with the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, taken all necessary measures to host the largest global parliamentary gathering,” he said.

Shura Chairman expressed pride in the global trust in the Kingdom’s ability and the pivotal role played by ambassadors of brotherly and friendly countries on the theme of the Assembly focusing on spreading coexistence and fraternity, as well as combating intolerance and hatred.
