Three jailed for rioting and using firebombs in Bahrain

The High Criminal Court punished three young men with prison terms along with fines for making Molotov cocktails and setting fire garbage containers and trash in the Sanabis area. The defendants received jail terms ranging between one and three years behind bars.
They were also fined amounts between BD100 and BD500. The convicted men were arrested after one of them stumbled while trying to flee the scene when members of the security forces arrived.
According to court files, the security forces received a communication revealing that a bunch of thugs were rioting in Sanabis and setting alight garbage containers and some wood waste to disrupt traffic.
The security forces that were stationed near the site went to the site and arrested one of the suspects. He attempted to escape after throwing Molotov cocktails at the container but stumbled while running.
The accused admitted that he had agreed with others to make Molotov cocktails and riot. Investigations also confirmed the validity of the defendants’ confessions with the evidence collected from the scene.
