As a community, through our collective action and commitment to safety and well-being, we will succeed in reducing the spread of COVID-19. Doing so will enhance stability across various sectors and enable the Kingdom of Bahrain to achieve its economic goals.

During its weekly meeting, this was emphasised by the Cabinet, held remotely yesterday and chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.

Follow all precautionary and preventative measures to keep oneself and the community safe from COVID-19: wear a face mask, observe social distancing, limit family gatherings, avoid large crowds, and get vaccinated, the Cabinet noted. In the face of rising active cases, the Cabinet has constantly made this appeal to citizens and residents in the Kingdom.

It also emphasised that the government is continuing to implement initiatives to support national efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and protect public health.

The Cabinet commended His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s confidence in Team Bahrain’s national efforts aimed at combating the COVID-19, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and HM’s continued commitment to safeguarding the health of the citizens and residents.

Following a recent circular published by the Central Bank of Bahrain, the Cabinet noted the financial sector’s swift response to postpone loan instalments owed by individuals and companies for a period of six months, which will further support the economy during these unprecedented times.

The Cabinet welcomed Bahrain’s re-election to the Executive Council of the UN World Tourism Organisation, stressing that this achievement strengthens the Kingdom’s contributions to further developing the tourism sector.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to adopting initiatives that promote environmental protection and a culture of preservation and sustainability.
