Wedding participants ‘breach’ health protocols

Two people accused of taking part in a wedding ceremony in the Southern Governorate have been remanded in custody, said the Ministries and Public Bodies Advocate Prosecutor.
The Public Prosecution had also asked for results of the police investigation on other participants who will face a criminal trial and jail term of up to three years as well as a BD5,000 fine if found guilty.
The Southern Police Directorate notified the Public Prosecution after spotting video footage of a street wedding ceremony attended by over 30 people at a residential area, in breach of the mandatory precautionary measures for combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
