Royal Police Academy wins pace sticking contest

The Royal Police Academy yesterday hosted its annual pace sticking competition, with several teams from the Ministry of Interior. Royal Academy of Police,Bahrain Special Force, Bahrain Special Force teams took part.

The competition was fierce, with the teams wanting to demonstrate the best of the skills at drill.

The Academy held the competition in two categories - junior and professional players.

The winners

The Royal Academy of Police team came first in the professional category, while the Protocol Management and Protection of Personalities Team grabbed the second spot.

Protocol Management and Protection of Personalities Team also took first place in the junior category.

Originally used to ensure correct distances between the guns by infantries, the Infantry later adopted the equipment to mark the distance between troops on parade.

By using the stick, soldiers either lengthened or shortened the pace of their marching. The winning teams were honoured by the Deputy Commander of the Royal Police Academy.

It is worth noting that this competition is held annually at the Royal Academy of Police to select the best players to represent the Ministry of Interior in international tournaments.

 Bahrain team annually takes part in All Arms (World Championship) Pace-Sticking competition held at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.
