Al Bader 5 steps up counter-terrorism fight

The counter-terrorism exercise “Al Bader 5” held jointly by Bahraini and Pakistani forces concluded on a high note yesterday. The exercise, held for the fifth time, carried out high precision drills for conducting counter-terrorism operations.

The National Guard Commander General His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, as deputised by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, attended the concluding ceremony of the exercise. Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and senior security officers were present during the ceremony that coincided with the 24th anniversary of the National Guard.

HH Shaikh Mohammed affirmed the steady support of HM the King, the Supreme Commander, in upgrading the defence capabilities of the Kingdom.

“The National Guard, under the leadership of HH Shaikh Mohammed, has become a formidable force in defending the sovereignty of the homeland, along with the BDF and the public security forces.”

The commander of the Pakistani force said the exercise plays a significant role in combating terrorism and upgrading the skills of the forces.
