Centre signs MoU

The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dialogue of Civilisations Research Institute in Russia (DOC-RI). Signed here by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, Dr Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Chairman of Supervisory Board of DOC-RI, Vladimir Yakunin, the MoU aims to enhance co-operation between the two sides, as well as develop their research and academic capabilities in the fields of dialogue of civilisations and peaceful co-existence.

Under the MoU, the two sides will establish a long-term relationship to enhance the exchange of information and expertise between their researchers and academics and activate joint research among the researchers, decision-makers and others. Aspects of bilateral co-operation will include the exchange of delegations and visits between Bahrain and Russia, during which workshops will be held and research papers will be presented to discuss issues of mutual interest.

Under the MoU, joint research programmes will be launched to promote the concepts of peaceful coexistence, tolerance and dialogue among civilisations and religions, and each party shall invite the other to participate in relevant local or international conferences.
