Drug smuggling: Detention of Asians extended

Detention of two men extended to another 30 days

 The High Criminal Court has renewed the detention of two Asian men charged of smuggling drugs into the Kingdom by another 30 days. The first accused reportedly planned to enter Bahrain carrying 99 capsules of heroine in his stomach, but was eventually nabbed following a police tip-off. 

 The police were notified that the defendant would be wearing a red cap and received by his accomplice at the airport. Accordingly, an ambush was sketched to capture both of them. 

Officers initially apprehended the first defendant, but then they allowed him to meet his accomplice, so they arrested him too. 

 The former was then taken to Salmaniya Medical Complex to have him disposed of the capsules out his stomach.  The first defendant said he was tempted to smuggle the capsules by a stranger in his hometown who offered him 4,000 Pakistani rupees in return.
