Citizens’ needs top priority: PM

ManamaHis Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has asserted that the needs of the citizens are a top priority that comes before everything else.

“The citizens’ demands receive immediate responses, as they are close to us and we are close to them,” he said, highlighting the government’s keenness on providing all services to the citizens.

“All ministers and officials in the government, and myself at their forefront, follow up on the citizens’ daily needs, and seek to meet them,” he said.

HRH Premier made the statements while receiving, at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday, a delegation from the Al-Salhiya villagers, who extended to him  thanks and appreciation for his recent directives to follow up on the needs of their village concerning the sufficiency of housing services. HRH Premier gave directives to the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning and the Minister of Housing to visit some dilapidated houses in Salhiya, meet needy families there and fulfill their needs promptly, as well as to determine sites to build new housing units for the local villagers, within the government’s housing projects.

The Prime Minister stressed that the development projects implemented across the kingdom’s towns and villages aim to provide comfort and decent living for the citizens.

HRH Premier affirmed that all ministries and departments will continue their work aimed at fulfilling the aspirations of the citizens in the kingdom’s various regions, adding that all potentials are harnessed to ensure that all towns and villages receive their share of the comprehensive development march, which will ensure that the citizens’ aspirations will be met in sustainable way.

“There are no barriers or obstacles between the government and the citizens, wherever they are, as doors are always kept open, channels of communication are numerous and the voice of the citizen is heard. Meeting the citizens’ needs is the cornerstone of all government efforts,” he said.

While listening to the Al-Salhiya villagers’ remarks on developing infrastructure, roads and housing, the Prime Minister asserted that meeting the citizens’ aspirations is the government’s duty and responsibility that come before everything else.

“We will continue exerting our efforts in this regard in order to ensure the citizens’ welfare, and the nation’s prosperity, as the best means to ensure the requirements of decent living for the coming generations,” he added.

HRH Premier praised the success of the development process in meeting the citizens’ needs, especially housing, which, he said, enjoys every interest, being essential to achieve social stability to eth citizens nationwide.
