Four Square Challengers marks first victory in Premier League
Manama : Foursquare Challengers lead by captain Omran Ghani defeated Awan Warriors at the BCC ground, Riffa.
Challengers elected to bowl after winning the toss and the bowlers took both openers before they even scored a run. Imran scored a brilliant 61 runs and Fiaz scored 46 runs, at the end of 20 overs warriors put a fighting total of 177 for 8 wickets.
Chasing the target, Challengers openers Janaka and Azhar Ali gave a solid start, as they put a 45 runs partnership for the first wicket. Azhar took the responsibility and started scoring quickly and scored a match winning knock of 109 runs in 64 balls which included eight fours and eight sixes. Challengers scored their victory in 19.1 overs for three wickets.
From this victory Four Square Challengers registered their first victory in BPL and opened their points account.
Azhar Ali was awarded the Al Hawaj Man of the match.
The tournament was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
